Set an Intention to Try These Self Care Strategies
(1) Rest & Pause - resist the urge to rush through your day, hurrying to check items off your to-do list. Take at least a five-minute break between activities and just catch your breath.
(2) Journaling - journaling is good for you in so many ways!
One is to let go of stress by getting it out of your head and onto the page. Another is by giving you a place to write down your intentions, which helps them manifest. And those are just two reasons to get you started.
(3) Meditation - meditation is a gift that keeps on giving, when it comes to stress. Not only will it help while you are meditating, but it lessens your experience of and reaction to stress, when it occurs.
Sip Some Self Care Tea
Many loose leaf teas offer a calming moment as you pause in what would otherwise be a busy day. And if they are dessert teas, they may be a welcome, and quite tasty distraction from any stress you are experiencing.
But because of their ingredients, many flavored teas may also offer emotional support in other ways.
Here are some examples...
-teas that have cinnamon may help you let go of anger and feel more self confident.
-teas that have cardamom may really help if you're experiencing a lot of stress and nervous tension, and may help you feel peaceful again.
-teas with clove may soften your intense feelings and help you let go of emotional wounds from the past.
-teas that have star anise may comfort you when you are feeling overworked and fatigued, and may feel deeply soothing, nurturing and supportive.
-teas that have ginger may help you to feel more grounded, and more empowered. And it may help you remove the blocks that kept you from being so.
-teas that have chocolate may make you feel happy and relaxed because it will hook you up with tryptophan. Studies suggest it will decrease cortisol, which also would mean less stress.
